Classical Imprint
The Classical Imprint is a series that has shifted medium and form throughout its time while crafted by artist Jacob Shaver. Having gone through six different incarnations of the series, Shaver has found a visual language that fits their vision. The series explores and compares facets of Greek Mythology while addressing ideas associated with voyeur, body dysmorphia, and gender identity through Shaver’s personal experience. The series finds further depth with accompanying poetry as Shaver speaks in a raw fashion, represented visually by the nude forms exposed to the elements surrounding them in each image. In each image, an item can also be found watching you, the viewer, as you become the unwitting form viewed by the pieces of the series itself.
